Summer 2019 LOCALadk Magazine 7 LOCALadk Message From The Editor Print, if done well, is not dead. In the beginning people said, "really, print…isn't that dying? " "Are you sure going print is a good idea? " This issue and the ones before it are proof that our readers still appreciate, and like, to pick up a good magazine and flip through the pages at their leisure. We are ver y proud to announce our 25th issue! It is hard to believe we are already celebrating this exciting mile- stone. Time does have a way of flying by when you are involved in something you really enjoy. We have so many people to thank for helping us achieve this. Please know that if you have been, or still are involved with LOC ALadk Magazine in any way, we appreciate each and ever y one of you. At the core of the magazine and why it works, are the people. We are humbled to work with so many talented and passionate individuals. Thank you for sharing either your words, stories, photos, adventures, passions, con- cerns, experiences, knowledge, and so much more. Thank you to the advertisers who continue to support and believe in us. Thank you to the subscribers who join and faithfully renew. Thank you to ever yone who picks up a free copy or follows us on social media. These groups are the reason we will continue to work hard at producing a quality magazine that has 6 million reasons to create and share more stories about the Adirondacks and beyond. Our subscription base continues to grow, as does our number of viewers on the digital version. Our social media channels are seeing a steady growth and more participation. We have more readers contacting us with feedback and suggestions, which we love to receive and encourage. We can only make improvements based on this kind of information. In 25 issues we have yet to print a flawless issue and I'm honestly not sure that will ever happen, but we tr y hard and it is one of our goals. We remain committed to create and share (for FREE) another 25 issues if the demand and support allows. In this summer issue we bring you more fun and interesting stories about people, businesses, climate change, food and beer, books, bikes, hikers, and even llamas, to name a few topics. Enjoy this well-earned summer and don't forget to support local businesses whenever possible. This issue LOCALadk will donate to the Ticonderoga Kiwanis in sup- port of the BackPack Program. This program provides food for the week- end for six local area schools in Ticonderoga, Moriah, Crown Point, and Schroon Lake. Happy summer, Anne Brewer Editor/Owner The Twenty-fifth Issue
