We are happy to be sharing another book by author Erik Schlimmer. In past issues we have introduced you to two of his books, Trans Adirondack and Blue Line to Blue Line. This issue features his latest work, which captures over twenty years of photographing remote parts of the Adirondacks. Erik Schlimmer has hiked over 10,000 miles in the Adirondacks. Color Re- mote: Bushwhacking the Adirondack Mountains is a hefty three pounds and contains 321 images of sel- dom seen areas. This new coffee table book shows off some of the best of the Adirondacks, and takes you into the "backcountr y of the backcountr y," as the author is quoted as saying. Only 1,000 copies will ever be published. Each one is numbered and signed, much like other works of art. Copies of Color Remote, which retail for $40, are available only through the websites of Friends of the Trans Adirondack Route (transadk.com) and Beech- wood Books (beechwoodbks.com). If you love seeing the Adirondacks through the lens of someone who is deeply passionate about the Park, and goes deep to explore it, then we think you will enjoy Color Remote.
