Old Forge: Another Great Mountain Biking Destination: Mountain biking in the Adirondacks is growing in popularity and many towns have created new trails to ride. Old Forge is one of the latest towns to recognize and support the need for new well-maintained and accessible mountain biking trails. A dedicated group of volunteers and a paid professional have developed a network of varied trails at and around McCauley Mountain. 16 Contents Winter Squash Squares: This issue we set out to help make the connection between the food we eat and having a healthy diet. Point Au Roche on Lake Champlain and just a few miles north of Plattsburgh is a popular spot for windsurfing. The shore break runs for miles thus creating building waves that can be surfed. Its worth the chill because it is that much fun. 38 Peak Foliage Paddle: What a beautiful time of the year to enjoy a paddle with friends. There are many great spots to paddle in the Adirondacks and many offer stunning views of the changing leaves. Color Remote: Bushwhacking the Adirondacks is recommended if you love the Adirondacks and enjoy excellent photography. 20 Eagle Mountain of the West Champlain Hills: At times referred to as the Low Peaks, the West Champlain Hills offers diversity in biology for hundreds of species. Eagle Mountain, a new acquisition held in trust, is open to the public but some areas will be restricted to protect the biodiversity.
