POW : Snow is so important to many of us in the Adirondacks but for seri- ous athletes who participate in winter sports it is crucial. Learn how one local athlete uses her voice to help spread the word of climate change. 18 Stories Told and Preserved: The Keene Valley Library has been working hard at capturing, retain- ing and telling the stories of many local residents. It has done this through volunteer storytellers who have helped record first-person narratives. Amazing people who are sharing their personal stories for all of us to enjoy and learn from. 22 Epic Journey: Scandinavian Skiing: This issue's journey takes you on a Scandinavian ski and cultural ad- venture. Lodge to lodge skiing is very popular and a great way to experience these beautiful countries. Thanks to New York State and Governor An- drew Cuomo for committing to help invest in the future of Lake Placid by funding projects such as upgrading the jumps. 56 Ice Bars of lake george: If you have yet to experience this cool event held at a variety of lo- cations in Lake George keep your calendar open in February. For the past six years several local resorts, restaurants, and retailers have had creative, artistic, and very functional ice bars and ice games cre- ated for the public to enjoy.
