Whether you are looking for your annual hunk of store cheese, a special book, Adirondack crafts, and local maple syrup or just stocking up camp for your stay, Hoss's has it all. Stop in and find all kinds of things you didn't even know you needed. "If you can't find it at 40-year-old Hoss's, you probably don't need it." While the task ahead of us is a big one, we're no strang- ers to running programs and events. We currently operate Water way Work Trips along the 740 -mile canoe trail, the popular Missisquoi Paddle-Pedal in Richford, Vermont, an- nual Paddling Film Festival screenings across the Northern Forest, and the Northern Forest Explorers program. NFCT has worked with AWA for a number of years, providing stew- ardship support before and after the 90 -Miler, as well as aid station support during the race. As a nonprofit, we view ourselves as the natural succes- sor to AWA to carr y these events for ward. We've already re- ceived over $20,000 in commitments to help with the tran- sition, and we expect that by the 2022 paddling season we will be able to reinvest all revenues directly into NFCT stew- ardship and programming. We have the infrastructure, the experience, and passion to make sure these beloved events are here for the long term. For 20 years, it's been NFCT's mission to steward and pro- mote the Northern Forest Canoe Trail and support the com- munities along our route. AWA's work in inspiring paddlers, promoting the region's natural beauty, and giving back to communities aligns seamlessly with our goals. Brian and Grace's contributions to paddling in the Adirondacks is im- measurable; it's an honor to carr y their legacy for ward. Karrie Thomas is executive director of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail.
