allow for easy escape should the need arise. There are a variety of entry points if the conditions don't allow for a run from John's Brook Lodge. A run of any length on this creek will have paddlers grinning ear to ear as they negotiate non-stop ledges and steep boulder rapids. Any group that safely floats under the Route 73 bridge in the heart of Keene Valley, signaling the completion of their descent, is consumed by a feeling of euphoria; they have just enjoyed one of the finest experiences Adirondack whitewater paddling has to offer. There is still a lot of exploration to be done in the High Peaks, as well as in the rest of the Adirondack Park. Paddlers who are unafraid to haul their boats long distances or point to a drainage on a map and go see it for themselves can find a number of never (or seldom) paddled sections of river within the Blue Line. Whether forging new territory or rediscovering old classics, the Adirondack park has something to offer any experienced, adventurous paddler. The United State's largest land preserve holds a variety of paddling opportunities almost as varied as the park itself. As we sit here at the dawn of the 2013 paddling season, open up a map or a guidebook, dream about your next great paddling adventure, pour yourself a tall glass of something, raise it up, and offer a "cheers" to a safe and exciting season ahead. u Tasting Room & Growlers to Go!
