JOEY PRIOLA is a photographer and scientist with a passion for exploring and photographing the

After a career in book publishing, BETH ROWLAND moved to the ADK in 2017, and put her
retirement plan of writing a novel on hold to work for CATS. She had hiked CATS trails many times,
and was impressed with the organization's mission. Beth and her husband Tim raise grass-fed beef
on their farm in Jay.

PAUL SORGULE is a long time Adirondack chef, culinary educator, restaurant consultant and
trainer, and author. Culinary Olympic Gold Medal winner, 2001 National Culinary Educator of
the Year, and author of two novels, Paul is passionate about good food and its sources. His
blog: www.harvestamericacues.com has been viewed and shared by nearly 1.5 million readers.
He lives with his wife, Sharon, in Saranac Lake, where they raised three children and now enjoy
visiting their six grandkids.

RON RAKOWSKI is a watercolor artist specializing in capturing scenes of the Adirondacks. Many
subjects are centered around the Old Forge area including the local ski hill, McCauley Mountain,
area buildings, and favorite vistas. He spends his summers painting with the Old Forge-based
plein air painting group "Mountain Air Painters."

LINDA WAXMAN FINKLE (LWF518@gmail.com) is an Albany-based writer who loves sports, science,
history, and learning new things. She spends many hours on the road, exploring the world, and
visiting family and friends.

BETHANY GARRETSON is an Environmental Studies instructor at Paul Smith's College in upstate New
York. She's a passionate mountain climber and writer, and her research examines the intricate
relationship between nature and culture.
