Summer 2020 LOCALadk Magazine 7 LOCALadk Message From The Editor In my family we have a saying that we often use at meal times. Each person says something they are thankful for and at the end we all hold hands and say, "we all stick together." We say it, we mean it, and we live it. Looking ahead, we might not be able to always hold hands, but we are committed to being there for each other and always helping in any way we can. For me, knowing that as a family we live by this saying, makes getting through tough times like we are in now more bearable. Communities throughout the Adirondacks and beyond have repeatedly said, meant, and acted out this same kind of mindset. We are in this together, and although that does not look like or mean the same thing for ever y- one, we are here to help and lend support. We all play a part in seeing our communities through this pandemic. We thank all, especially essential workers who have stepped up to keep things going and to protect others. LOC ALadk Magazine made the tough decision to produce a digital only issue for the summer. This decision was made based on economics. We have produced and offered a high quality FREE magazine for over seven years, and that has been made possible in part by the support of our advertisers. Many of those advertisers are now facing difficult and uncertain times. We did not want to add to their stress by asking them to maintain the same level of commitment to us. Going digital only for this issue has allowed us to create and share another inspiring issue that also allows for ads to grace the pages and keep us informed. We too LOVE our print issue, and we look for ward to bringing it back to all loyal and new readers as soon as possible. In the meantime, please enjoy this issue and also help us share it with others. By sharing the link with your friends, it is our hope that the digital issue will make a positive impact. Help us to help the Adirondacks open back up, and welcome those who love this park for whatever reason. We need your help especially for this issue in get- ting the word out. We also ask and encourage ever yone, whether you live here or visit, to respect the new changes and to do your part in helping stem the virus. We have plenty of fresh air and space, so come, vacation, and respect the rules. Remember, we are in this together, and together we can sur vive and thrive again. Happy summer, Anne Brewer Editor/Owner
