While visiting some friends camping at Nick's Lake in Old
Forge, I dragged them to the shore around 10:30 to spot Com-
et NEOWISE as no one had seen it yet. We sorta borrowed
someone's dock to relax on and I set up my tripod in ankle
deep water as dusk faded. The comet continued to brighten
and I was able to get this photo around 11:30pm with a 20
second exposure. The best way to do this is with a shutter
remote control or a 2 second timer. This helps ensure the
camera is not moving when you hit the shutter and the image
is not blurred. The camera settings were f/2.8, ISO 1000 and
I shoot with a Sony aRii camera and a Sony FE 2.8/24-70 GM
lens.
