We have been publishing four exciting issues of LOCALadk annually for eight years, and are indebted to all our loyal advertisers, contributors, readers, and fans. We know this magazine would not be possible without you and your support. At this point, we'd like to share with you some ideas we have come up with on how to give LOCALadk a fresh look. We have a new Director of Design and are looking forward to him sharing his ideas and expertise on making this great-looking magazine even better. e changes will concern the presentation of the articles, new design ideas, and a font that we believe will make the magazine easier to read. Our goal has always been to focus on creating a free publication that people look forward to reading and walk away having learned something new. We hope you find inspiration and humor, and a new way to enjoy the Adirondacks. Do you, as we do, feel privileged to be a part of the Adirondack Park? We have all realized how important the Adirondacks are in our lives, especially so this past year, as it offered us a place to escape, get some fresh air and space, and perhaps a bit of solitude. With this issue we bring you stories of sunken tree logs turned into instruments, passionate swimmers breaking records, a bushwhack adventure, friends taking a canoe route less traveled, side trips within the Grand Canyon, a delicious twist on pizza, and the sweet taste of locally made maple syrup. ese stories were created by our dedicated team of LOCALadk contributors. We welcome submissions of story ideas and/or photography for consideration. And, as always, we hope you enjoy this issue. If so, share it with a friend and follow us on our social media channels.
