DOG TOYS LOCALadk 39 We love our pets so we wanted to share some ideas for fun dog products for the summer. We asked our sponsor Wagging it in the ADK in Old Forge what some of their favorite products were and why. Owner Judy Lonergan introduced us to the company West Paw. She said their products are very durable, creative and come with a guarantee. West Paw is a USA-based company that cares about community and of course dogs. West Paw is consistently giving back through volunteering and making charitable donations. We tested out the fun and zany looking Rowdies as well as the Rumpus. From the West Paw team, "ey bring happiness, comfort, love, and lightness into our lives. ey're called "man's best friend" for a reason. But our goal—like yours—is to be "dog's best friend." We do this by making things dogs love. You know, anything that goes along with jumping, running, chewing, napping, cuddling, and playing. And we want the fun to go on... and on. at's why we guarantee every product. We'll replace or refund any product that doesn't live up to your standards. Beyond dogs, we care about people and the planet too. We're eco-friendly in our materials and manufacturing choices." Ruffwear is another USA based company we recommend for the many great products they create for adventure-loving dogs. is is one of those, "it started in the garage" stories and has grown into a company in which product is shipped to 53 different countries. If you hike with your dog we recommend checking out the variety of harnesses, we tested the Web Master. We found it to be very durable yet seemingly comfortable for the dog, and the handle made it easy to help her up some steep sections. Safety is paramount in Ruffwear designs as well as control and the Web Master certainly delivered. Now that it is summer, the importance of keeping your active dog well hydrated can become crucial. Ruffwear got its start making collapsible bowls and today's designs are not only functional but also artistic. Regardless of what it looks like, make sure you always bring some kind of water bowl on your dog adventures. We have seen it go the other way here in the Adirondacks, so again please keep your dog hydrated this summer. Lastly, we took a look at some of their toys. ey have a great selection of toys for the water, for chasing, chewing and catching. Our test dog tried out the Gnawt-A-Stick, a resilient natural rubber throw toy that is great on land or water. Check it out. If you have a favorite dog toy or dog gear company, let us know.
