is year we are happy to be back in print for our summer issue. anks to all who helped pull us through a tough year. I especially enjoyed delivering the spring issue this year. It was nice to chat and connect with so many different people, learning first-hand how they coped with the pandemic and more importantly, how excited they've been to experience a more positive summer season. Many towns in the Adirondacks have announced that certain events will be taking place this summer. Lake Placid plans to hold the Horse Show and is also hoping to host the Ironman. Adaptation has been a key element to not only our daily lives but the survival of many Adirondack businesses. Please know they are all working very hard to service locals and visitors the best and safest way possible. We still have the responsibility to follow protocol: Wear masks when necessary, stay smart about social distancing, and of course, have patience. For this issue we have worked hard to bring you a diverse selection of stories to enjoy: Birding opportunities on the Champlain Area Trails, learning about landlocked salmon and some of the best spots to try your luck, the secret behind a successful fourth-generation family-run business, bouldering a well-known trail, biking in the Adirondacks, knowing mushrooms, and much more. Summer in the Adirondacks is hard to beat. We can't wait for live music, gathering with family and friends, swimming, camping, biking, bonfires, racing events, and so many other summertime favorites. We encourage you to get outside and enjoy all the many opportunities the Adirondacks offer this time of year. And don't forget to support local businesses whenever possible A M E S S A G E F R O M A N N E LOCALadk LOCALadk 7 Happy Summer, Anne Owner/Editor
