to the bloodiest battle in the 18th century,
fought between the French and British
in 1758, to the first American victory in
the Revolutionary War on May 10, 1775,

from development as early as 1820, one
of the first acts of preservation in our
country's history. e Fort Ticonderoga
Museum opened to the public in 1909,
representing one of the finest early
American military collections in the
country. e 2,000 acres preserved by
the Association today remain a catalog
of that history."
