LOCALadk 9 We are excited to share some news that will only make our magazine better. e Adirondacks are full of talented people who have a strong passion and appreciation for being able to call this place home. We are lucky enough to say two such people will be joining the LOCALadk team. Eric Adsit, who worked for us in the past and was responsible for designing our amazing layouts, is back. He is a professional photographer and filmmaker who has a keen eye and frequently faces 3:00 am alarms to get the shot. Eric has a creative mind, strong work ethic and absolutely loves adventuring in the Adirondacks. His latest venture is starting his own media company, Adsit Media Works. We will all benefit from his contribution to the magazine and I am grateful to have him on our team. We are also lucky to have Rhiannon Berry, soon to be Adsit, joining us as well. Rhiannon is one of Lake Placid Central's newest high school English teachers, having started this fall. She has spent over a decade in education, including overseeing her former district's award-winning student newspaper, e Lifeguard. Additionally, Rhiannon has spent the last two years writing stories featuring people, businesses, and spaces throughout the Adirondacks. She has a passion for storytelling and is coming to the magazine with lots of fresh and exciting ideas of stories to share. A chance meeting at the 2019 Wilmington Mountain Bike Festival brought these two together, and they now make Lake Placid their home. is issue we are proud to bring you a variety of fun and interesting stories including locals, farming honey bees and a Green Goddess recipe which highlights the use of this delicious sweet nectar. Read a touching piece about a family creating a priceless tradition while paddling the Adirondack Canoe Classic or 90 Miler. Learn about how one small town got together and supported the creation of a kids youth hockey team, e Mighty Loons of Inlet. Not only do they slap pucks at Fern Park but these kids were invited to hit the ice at the Adirondack Bank Center Ice Arena in Utica.
