Honey, the sweet sticky nectar of the bees. The history of honey and its consumption by humans goes back 1000's of years.
It is used predominantly as a sweetener, but its health benefits are numerous. It contains essential amino acids, anti-oxidants,
vitamins, minerals and enzymes. It has antimicrobial, anti oxidant, anti inflammatory, anti cancer, and anti metastatic properties.
We are indebted to our bee friends for the bounty of honey and their role in the pollination of plants and flowers. For informa-
tion on how you can support your local ADK honey bees go to ADK Action at https://www.adkaction.org/project/adirondack-pol-
