W H O ' S W H O ERIC Eric Adsit can't cross a bridge without looking for a river beneath it. He calls Lake Placid home and spends as much time as possible on the rivers, trails, and mountains of the Adirondacks and beyond. When he's not helping with LOCALadk, he can usually be found with a camera in hand producing films and photos celebrating the outdoors and the communities found in the Adirondacks. RHIANNON Rhiannon Berry Adsit runs, bikes, swims, and writes whenever and wherever she can, gets unreasonably excited about beautiful trees, and has yet to meet a dog she didn't love. Born and raised in North Syracuse, NY, she seeks to instill hope, empathy, and kindness (and vicarious fandom for Syracuse Universtiy basketball) in her high school English students and beyond. When she isn't writing, teaching, or playing outdoors, she loves to read, play music, and spend time with loved ones. LOCALadk ERIK Erik Schlimmer is the author of twelve books and is the dude behind Place Name Dude, a research endeavor that's historically decoding 1,000 Adirondack toponyms. As he likes to say, "Behind every name there's a story, and the story's usually pretty good." Find him at placenamedude.com. DOUG Doug Haney, owner and founder of Bike Adirondacks, previously worked with the Women's Sports Foundation and U.S. Olympic Committee. He moved to the Adirondacks in 2001, leading to 12 years in event management and elite athlete communications with U.S. Ski and Snowboard, including five Olympic Games. He also owns GreatRange, a marketing and communications firm dedicated to producing high quality graphics, websites, and impactful marketing st. Doug lives in Saranac Lake with his wife Kat and their two kids, Gwen and Liesl. CAMERON Cameron Guidry moved to Old Forge during the summer of 2019 and is a junior at Town of Webb High School. He loves helping others and is very interested in academics. He is currently working on starting a peer-to-peer tutoring program at his school to offer free academic help to students who need it.
