Welcoming Winter
Snow flakes begin to fall as we put the final touches on the fall/winter issue of
LOCALadk. Fall in the Adirondacks was gorgeous this year and although my kayak
still sits in the yard as I refuse to put it away until ice starts to form, my skis have come
out of storage and sit by the door patiently waiting for their first turns. Winter is upon
us and Saranac Lake is once again making an appearance on the national weather
stations as the coldest place in New York State. We hope this issue inspires you to
enjoy the cold outside with all the wonderful winter activities the Adirondacks provide
but we also know it's important to be warm on the inside. So find a cozy spot to crack
open the latest issue, put your feet by the fire and enjoy the stories and photos we
have put together. You will find adventure, passion, dedication, inspiration, ingenuity,
creativity and above all a truer appreciation for the park we live, visit and play in. We
are grateful for the continued support for LOCALadk and hope everyone has a safe
