"The yin and yang of landscape photography are exemplified in these two photographs. Early dawn light
illuminates the fog in a valley in Harrietstown while the last vestige of the day is reflected in the water of Upper
Saranac Lake. The most interesting photographs are made during those transitions from night to day and day to
night. Dawn light comes in low over mountains creating the long shadows of trees cast upon a misty valley while
a setting sun creates warm highlights on cotton candy clouds reflected on a mirrored lake surface. These are the
moments the landscape photographer seeks and are then too soon gone." Photography by Phil Ashwood
