the Adirondacks, whether it's scouting a location or shooting video. If clients want a visual piece created for them, we'll gladly do that, too," Ximena explains. "We're very much a location management and production company, and we can help as much or as little as people need. Whatever someone needs, we'll make it happen." Making it happen often involves a little help from local friends who are happy to pitch in. "Whenever we can dip into the community for resources, we do," Kurt says. Those resources are abundant, especially for a location considered remote in comparison to New York or Los Angeles. When production crews need something specific, whether it's an antique prop, a sprawling home, or a pickup truck rigged up to hold a camera platform, the answer is just a few phone calls away. "The sense of community is so helpful," he explains. " We need community support for the projects that we work on. It's not just hotels and restaurants that prosper from people coming up here. It's anyone who has anything that can be used in a photo shoot, whether it's props, locations, or local actors. The Adirondack community in general is extremely supportive, and there are extremely talented people scattered all around the Adirondacks, so the resources we can pull from are more and more enticing." When it all comes together, the results are truly amazing. A look at AMP's website reveals an impressive roster of clients, services, props, locations and previous work, including famous names like Warner Brothers, who the Gardners worked with for the 2014 film "Winter's Tale". Their latest project, a New York University thesis film entitled "Blackwell", will be making the rounds on the film festival circuit this summer before being shown at Old Forge's Strand Theater, along with five or six other short films, as part of a special event this fall. Directed by Ed Barnes, "Blackwell" is a Western that follows the story of a bounty hunter and a prisoner, involving stolen gold, a quest for freedom, and plenty of plot twists along the way.
