Eagles Nest Outfitters
Just Hangin' Around
By Anne Brewer
Hammocks and summer go hand in hand. Because LOCALadk has a favorite, we
thought we would introduce you to what we feel is the perfect hammock.
Eagles Nest was started in 1999 by two brothers, Pete and Paul, when they
decided to leave the traditional workplace (cheers) and pursue a more laid-back
lifestyle. They began selling hammocks from the back of a minivan and, as they
say, "the rest is history."
The hammocks come in single or double size and are made of quick drying nylon.
The single weighs 16oz. When not in use, the hammocks tuck into a small stuff
sack. These hammocks are ideal to bring along on just about any adventure where
you have the opportunity to relax and put your feet up. I bring mine kayaking and
camping, and one hangs in the back yard.
The hammocks have heavy-duty carabiners on the end that clip to a system of
looped straps that allow the hammock to be hung from different heights and
used just about anywhere. Straps are sold separately, and I strongly suggest you
make the investment, as the straps make the hammock quick and easy to use.
The brothers have since moved out of the garage and have expanded the
business, so go to www.eaglesnestoutfittersinc.com to see other cool products
and to pick the color of your new hammock.
