mentioned in this article. If you are in the market we suggest you take

companies.
Placid Boatworks makes the Spitfire 12, carbon kevlar, a modern remake of a classic Adirondack
Pack boat, yet a little longer. L=12 feet, W=27.5" weighs 20-24 lbs
It is fast and maneuverable, due to a lot of rocker (the shaped difference between the bow and stern
and the bottom of the boat.) This boat is designed and built to be an open-decked boat paddled with
a double-bladed paddle. Gunwales are a specially designed system that infuses the rail with the hull,
thus making it maintenance free but offering maximum strength.
Hornbeck makes the Black Jack carbon fiber, which is great for short overnight trips, pond
hopping, Adirondack carries, and pleasure paddling. L=12 feet W =30" weighs 11-15 lbs.
This boat is tough, stable, tracks well, and is relatively fast for its length and width. It's hard to find
a lighter boat.
Adirondack Canoe Company makes the TBD, made of kevlar and/or carbon fiber Cherry
gunwale. L= 12, W= 28.5", weighs 20 lbs
This is a strong light weight boat designed to carry you efficiently through Adirondack lakes and
ponds.
Slipstream Watercraft makes the Wee Lassie, from glass to carbon with wood trim gunwales
in cherry or ash. L= 10'6' W=27", ranges in weight from 9-23 lbs. Wee Lassie is maneuverable at 10'6",
yet still tracks well.
