Parting Shots - Goodbye Summer
There are, of course, many wonderful photographs highlighting the
beautiful landscapes of the Adirondacks. Sometimes, for a different and
unique photo, you have to change your perspective and go places most
people don't go. What's fun about this one, is that it was taken nearly
400' off the valley floor, climbing a route called Catharsis on the face
of Poke-O-Moonshine. It's a multi-pitch climbing route and this photo
was taken from the 3rd belay on the big rock face (see inset below).
Traditional climbing in the Adirondacks affords special vantage points
that few ever reach. The only way to get to this point is with rope,
climbing gear and trusted friends. Thanks Royce! It's the Adirondacks;
from a slightly different point of view.
