The holiday season officially kicks off as guests arrive at Mother
Hubbard's where they are greeted with fresh baked goodies, and hot
chocolate to warm their bellies as they visit with neighbors awaiting
the arrival of Old Saint Nick himself. Soon the Man in Red appears and
leads the parade of guests down into his lighted village. Throughout
the evening, guests can pet and feed the reindeer, or ride the carousel.
For those who prefer to shop, the World of Christmas, Santa's Toy Shop
and the Hat shop are open offering the opportunity to purchase a very
unique Christmas gift. Let's not forget the Bakery and the Candy Store,
a favorite stop for kids. With snowflakes falling, the air is filled with the
sound of Christmas music as local groups perform in the outdoor the-
atre. Perhaps the most anticipated part of the evening for the children
is when they get to visit Santa in his house. Every child is encouraged to
enter where they receive a special present.
The wonder and magic of the season is confirmed as guests are asked to
exit the park and meet in the parking lot for the breathtaking Fireworks
Spectacular. Wilmington sure knows how to throw a party!
