the Remington Museum in Ogdensburg.
Except for his military service and college years, Bullard has lived
in the region his entire life. He finds inspiration year-round, even
in the "shoulder" season of spring. As one of 12 photographers
participating in the Paul Smith's College VIC Photography Chal-
lenge, Bullard said that we "found inspiration even in what is con-
sidered by most to be the most dismal part of the year".
"Between the ever-changing light and the changing seasons I
make new discoveries of natural beauty every time I go outside,"
Bullard continued. "The North Country is like that, it becomes
part of you. A friend said to me years ago that 'the thing about
the North Country is that when you put your roots down here,
they freeze.' He was right."
