He grew up in Vestal, New York, and fell in love with the High Peaks when he first visited them about 20 years ago. Many years later Shaun and his wife, Anna, were married on Whiteface Mountain and are now the proud owners of a fixer-upper in Saranac Lake, which they share with their energetic dog, Belle. She has first ascents in India's Karakoram and Afghanistan's Hindu Kush mountains, and a penchant for adventure in hostile, uncharted environments. Emilie JESSICA WIMETT grew up in Vermont, and travelled and adventured extensively before moving to the Adirondacks in 2015. She has her BA from St. Lawrence University, and has worked as an editor, herbalist, cook, and farmer. She may be most recognized, however, as 'Amaya's mom,' throughout the region. Her writing has appeared in several local and national publications, and she is excited to support environmental stewardship through the local foods movement in the Adirondacks. Jessica ERIK HALLIN first came to the Adirondacks from Sweden to attend prep school in Lake Placid.
