Story by Charlie Wilson and Henry Loher
Meet our summer issue Up and Comers, Charlie Wilson
and Henr y Loher. These two were recently honored with the
Wilmington Citizen of the Year Award. The award was in rec-
ognition of their hard work and initiative in hosting the first
annual Hardy Kids Bike Race. The race was a success despite
ver y wet and cold weather. 29 kids raced and over $500 was
raised and donated to the Barkeater Trails Alliance (BETA)
for more trail work.
Henry: My name is Henr y Loher and I live in Wilmington,
NY. I go to Lake Placid Elementar y School and I am in the 4th
grade. I've loved mountain biking since I was four and I like
getting huge air on my bike. My favorite trail is going down
Twisted Pine on the Hardy Road Trails in Wilmington.
Charlie: I'm Charlie Wilson and I am from Wilmington, NY.
I am in the 4th grade at Lake Placid Elementar y School. I've
been biking since I was two and I like going down trails su-
per fast and hitting jumps. That is why I like the new Quaker
Mountain Trail in Wilmington.
