When shooting the night sky, be careful of star streaks. Using a longer exposure allows more
time for the earth to rotate, causing the sky to be filled with star lines instead of bright, single
specks. You can do some simple calculations to figure out what shutter speed is right for your
focal length.
The second reason is something I referred to earlier: stacking and exposure-blending. Taking
multiple exposures and combining them is one of the best ways to get the best image. I recom-
mend watching "Lonely Speck" on YouTube for instructions on effective blending and stacking.
Astrophotography is a developing art form that is becoming more popular in the photographic
world. With growing technology, I can't wait to see what cameras and software will allow us to do
in the future.
