Whiteface
Mountain,

NORTH
HUDSON
This
17-mile
route
winds
through
forests
along
the
southern
fringe
of
the
High
Peaks.
It's
serene
and
immersed
in
colorful
foliage,
offering
a
break
from
civilization
with
few
towns
in
between.

ROAD
LOOP
Begin
in
downtown
Lake
Placid
and
head
east
on
Rt.
86,
following
the
majestic
West
Branch
of
the
Ausable
River,
then
turn
right
on
River
Road.
This
loop
passes
the
scenic
Lake
Placid
Club,
a
45-hole
golf
course,
and
the
towering
Olympic
Ski
Jumps
surrounded
by
foliage
bursting
with
color.

Road
offers
great
views
from
hilltops
and
shoreline,
providing
a
nice
variety
of
elevation
and
landscape.

LAKE
TO
INLET
This
route
through
the
heart
of
the
Adirondacks
passes
through
some
of
the
region's
most
treasured
historical
landmarks.
Plan
a
picnic
for
Arrowhead
Park
which
offers
great
foliage
views,
or
visit
Great
Camp
Sagamore
to
step
back
in
time
to
the
Gilded
Age.
