EVAN Evan Beech moved to Westport when he was 4 years old from Louisiana. He attended Lakeside School at Black Kettle Farm from K-3rd grade. When he was 7 years old, he organized a protest against oil pipelines, after which he spoke to and then led over 200 people in the 2017 People's Climate March in Plattsburgh. He is now 13 years old, homeschooled, and in 8th grade. He enjoys hiking, hugging, soccer, fencing, dancing, and geocaching. AURORA Aurora Pfaff delights in living in Saranac Lake with her husband and spoiled cats. Working for a sustainable tourism non-profit, she writes extensively about local history, Santa, and stargazing. She has a Master's degree in English from Harvard University and is currently working on two books, one of which is a history of aviation in the Adirondacks. TROY Troy Tetreault, a wide-ranging recreationist, enjoys writing about all aspects of the outdoors. From writing for academic journals while pursuing his MS in alpine ecology from Idaho State, to stories about remote bushwhacks in the Adirondacks, he loves finding ways to share stories with all sorts of audiences. After moving back to Lake Placid, he's enjoyed working as the photopoint monitoring field technician at ADK, and as a writer for a sustainable tourism non-profit. KAIDENCE Kaidence Moore is an avid disc golf player and outdoors enthusiast. She is ranked 12th in the world in her division and has competed across the Northeast, winning countless titles and accolades. Kaidence uses her disc golf travel to spread awareness about Lyme disease prevention and her story of living with Lyme. While she's not on the course, Kaidence enjoys writing, reading, photography, sketching and playing tenor saxophone. JOSEY As a writer and producer for Wildline Media Productions, Josey Brady is immersed in the world of storytelling. She holds the core belief that storytelling can bring unlikely people together and serve as a catalyst for change. Whether searching for snow in the Adirondack backcountry, paddling remote waterways, or biking down dirt roads in search of secret swimming holes, Josey can be found chasing water in all its forms. MATTHEW Matthew Adams grew up in the Adirondacks where he became fascinated with the natural world. This led him to study Environmental Science and Ecology at SUNY Plattsburgh. He enjoys hiking, camping, paddling, biking, and skiing. Matthew had worked seasonally at Whiteface and with the DEC before going to the forest ranger Academy in 2022. Upon completion of the academy, he got stationed in the northern Adirondacks. ASHLEY Ashley was born and raised in the beautiful Adirondack mountains, and is happy to be home again after many years away. She works as an elementary school teaching assistant, and is a proud parent of a twenty-three year old son and nineteen year old stepdaughter. She can often be found playing in the woods with her husband and her English Setter. She is often found hiding away reading a book, needlepointing, or practicing the art of hygge. JEREMY Jeremy Manning is the founder and current trails manager of Wheelerville Trails in the Town of Caroga. He is an avid snowboarder, hunter and mountain biker, and loves the active, season-based lifestyle the Adirondacks provides. When he's not leaf blowing bike trails, he spends his time enjoying the outdoors with his family.
