W H O ' S W H O ERIC Eric Adsit can't cross a bridge without looking for a river beneath it. He calls Lake Placid home and spends as much time as possible on the rivers, trails, and mountains of the Adirondacks and beyond. When he's not helping with LOCALadk, he can usually be found with a camera in hand producing films and photos celebrating the outdoors and the communities found in the Adirondacks. RHIANNON Rhiannon Berry Adsit runs, bikes, swims, and writes whenever and wherever she can, gets unreasonably excited about beautiful trees, and has never met a dog she didn't love. Born and raised in North Syracuse, NY, she seeks to instill hope, empathy, and kindness (and vicarious fandom for Syracuse Universtiy basketball) in her high school English students and beyond. When she isn't writing, teaching, or playing outdoors, she loves to read, play music, and spend time with loved ones. ANNE Anne Brewer lives in Lake Placid. She is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast, kayaker, hiker, skier, photographer, and traveler. Anne earned a degree in International Business and Communications from SUNY Brockport. In addition to her work with LOCALadk , Anne guides for Adventures in Good Company which leads worldwide hiking and kayaking trips for women. Anne is also a Real Estate Agent with Merrill L. Thomas out of Lake Placid. LOCALadk NEAL Neal Burdick is retired as publications writer/editor and teacher of Advanced Journalism at St. Lawrence University, his alma mater. He remains a freelance magazine writer and book editor, focused on the Adirondacks. Also a contributing editor of Adirondac, the Adirondack Mountain Club's magazine, he lives in Canton, NY, where he is a member of the community theater group Grasse River Players. He is vice-chair of the Board of Azure Mountain Friends. JOHN Originally from Iowa, John Cerveny fell in love with the Adirondacks shortly after a friend took him on a hike during his freshman year at RPI. He and his wife Terri realized a dream and bought their home in Lake Luzerne in 2015 where they've lived full-time since 2019. He serves as Senior Director for the New York Battery and Energy Storage Technology Consortium (NY-BEST) where he leads efforts to grow advanced battery manufacturing and supply chain development in the State.
