W H O ' S W H O ERIC Eric Adsit can't cross a bridge without looking for a river beneath it. He calls Lake Placid home and spends as much time as possible on the rivers, trails, and mountains of the Adirondacks and beyond. When he's not helping with LOCALadk, he can usually be found with a camera in hand producing films and photos celebrating the outdoors and the communities found in the Adirondacks. RHIANNON Rhiannon Berry Adsit runs, bikes, swims, and writes whenever and wherever she can, gets unreasonably excited about beautiful trees, and has yet to meet a dog she didn't love. Born and raised in North Syracuse, NY, she seeks to instill hope, empathy, and kindness (along with vicarious fandom for Syracuse University basketball) in her high school English students and beyond. When she isn't writing, teaching, or playing outdoors, she loves to read, play music, and spend time with loved ones. LOCALadk GEORGE George Cassidy Payne is a freelance journalist, poet, and community advocate from Rochester, NY. A descendant of several generations of Adirondack guides, he grew up immersed in the region's landscapes and traditions. His writing on politics, culture, nature, and local history has appeared in regional and national outlets. A former phi- losophy instructor and peace educator, George now serves as a 988 Suicide Prevention Counselor and nonprofit strategist, drawing connections between place, memory, and social change. DORIT Dorit Gaedtke is a physician who moved to the Adirondacks in 1993. Besides the love for her profession and her patients, she has a deep passion for classical music and her string instruments. She has played her violin since she was 10 years old and more recently has picked up playing viola. She thrives when organizing music events and has been the coordinator of the "Messiah Musicians" since the inception of the Tri-Lake Annual Community Sing Messiah. ANNE Anne Brewer is the co-founder and former Editor of LOCALadk Magazine. She lives in Lake Clear and enjoys riding the new rail trail and paddling in the St Regis Canoe Area. Anne is a real estate agent with Merrill L.Thomas and feels fortunate to be able to help people find their perfect Adirondack home. When not in the Adirondacks, she is probably somewhere unique on the globe guiding a group of women on a cool adventure. Also along for most adventures is Luna, the little black dog.
