W H O ' S W H O ERIC Eric Adsit can't cross a bridge without looking for a river beneath it. He calls Lake Placid home and spends as much time as possible on the rivers, trails, and mountains of the Adirondacks and beyond. When he's not helping with LOCALadk, he can usually be found with a camera in hand producing films and photos celebrating the outdoors and the communities found in the Adirondacks. RHIANNON Rhiannon Berry Adsit runs, bikes, swims, and writes whenever and wherever she can, gets unreasonably excited about beautiful trees, and has yet to meet a dog she didn't love. Born and raised in North Syracuse, NY, she seeks to instill hope, empathy, and kindness (along with vicarious fandom for Syracuse University basketball) in her high school English students and beyond. When she isn't writing, teaching, or playing outdoors, she loves to read, play music, and spend time with loved ones. LOCALadk BLAINE Blaine is a local outdoor enthusiast who revels in long days out in the mountains, either by foot or bike. He is al- ways trying to find new ways to explore the High Peaks and surrounding forests. Finding new pieces of single track around where he lives in Lake Placid is his favorite feeling ever; if you have any suggestions, send them along! SYDNEY Sydney Schmidt is a freelance graphic designer from Saranac Lake. You can see her design work throughout the magazine, as she has created many of the advertisements. She is also a server at Bitters & Bones and enjoys spending her free time with her fiancé, Zach, and their two dogs, Honey and Zoe. Sydney also loves traveling with Zach and exploring places they've never been before. HELENE Helene Gibbens has been calling the Adirondacks home for 25 years. Her passion for being in forests and rivers is matched only by her commitment and passion to foster personal healing for all, especially women living in the Adirondacks. A Certified Nature Therapy Guide, Yoga Teacher and NYS Hiking Guide, she leads Creative Healing Connections' Board of Trustees. Most days, you will find her renewing her sense of wonder and interconnection with nature, outdoors with her husband and dog.
