It is finally summer and we sure have earned it this
year... Winter temperatures and snowfalls through-
out our park were impressive. Old Forge recorded
two days above freezing over a 60-day span this past
winter! Saranac Lake was the coldest spot in the lower
48 on March 3. Lake Clear Airport reported the mean
temperature in February to be 1.3 degrees. Here at
LOCALadk we appreciate all of the activities our four
seasons give us the opportunity to experience. We
encourage you to get outside and enjoy the summer
weather and all it offers.
This issue brings you stories about mountain biking,
battling invasive species, hiking the Northville Plac-
id Trail, favorite Adirondack spots to paddle, locally
made cheese, delicious summer recipes, and rafting
the Grand Canyon.
As always we also do our best to fill the magazine with
amazing photography. Take time out to check out the
advertising. We believe our ads are of interest to our
readers and will only add in your enjoyment of all the
Adirondack Park has to offer.
