10 Spring 2018 LOCALadk Magazine LOCALadk Who's Who Anne ANNE BREWER lives in Lake Placid with her husband, Peter Evans, his daughter Ellie, and their dog Juni. She is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast, kayaker, hiker, skier, photographer, and traveler. She has a passion for Central and South America and enjoys visiting places that are off the beaten path. Anne earned a degree in International Business and Communications from SUNY Brockport. In addition to being the Managing Editor for LOCALadk, Anne guides for Adventures in Good Company, and operates her own summer business: Placid Waters Kayaking. Eric ERIC ADSIT can't cross a bridge without looking for a river beneath it. While his mailing address is in Lowville, he lives on the rivers, trails, and mountains of the Adirondacks and beyond, taking photos, climbing things, and writing about his experiences. She spends as much time as possible in the Adirondacks, which she fell in love with at age 15 on her first trip to Lake Placid for a speed skating competition. Tamara Joan JOAN HERRMANN is a nature photographer, naturalist, and outdoor educator and has been teaching and doing programs for schools, garden clubs, libraries, and nature centers for about 35 years. She is a former co-owner of The Artworks, in Old Forge. She was a docent at MWPAI in Utica for 19 years and presently works at the Black River Outdoor Educational Program in Boonville. BETHANY GARRETSON is an instructor of Environment Studies at Paul Smith's College, a writer, and a passionate mountain climber. Her work examines Nature and Culture and the intricate and complicated relationships between the two. She lives in Paul Smiths with her husband and fun-loving terrier mix, Tahawus. Bethany SARAH GRIFFIN has loved writing for as long as she can remember, and loved the Adirondacks ever since her first encounter, when she was 12 years old. Sarah currently lives in Central New York with her husband, daughter, and their host of animals. In addition to editing for LOCALadk, Sarah is managing editor of the online literary magazine, The Elephant (thelephant.press). Sarah
