This small company prides itself on sus-
tainability, durability, and craftsmanship.
The founder, Korina, has a passion for sail-
ing as well as a degree in design, and talent
with needle and thread. Inspired by maritime
tradition and time spent sailing in New York,
Korina has created bags that are practical,
sturdy, and true works of art.
Sailcloth is a lightweight, quick-dr y, strong,
and easy-to-clean material. She collects and
cleans the sails and cuts them carefully to
limit material waste. All other materials are
sourced from environmentally friendly and
local producers. Leather straps are cut from
domestic hides tanned in Pennsylvania with
a traditional method which uses vegetable
based tannins instead of chemicals that are
harmful to the earth. The straps are metic-
ulously conditioned for a smooth finish and
attached to the bag with solid copper rivets.
All bags are sewn with heavy duty thread
on an industrial sewing machine special-
ly designed to sew sailcloth. Ever ything is
produced in small batches by hand in a solar
powered studio, items are shipped in recy-
cled envelopes, and even the hang tags are
cut from vintage nautical charts.
Several designs are reinforced with a
waxed canvas waterproof bottom – perfect
for boating or camping. These are the bags
that caught the attention of LOC ALadk.
