Summer 2018 LOCALadk Magazine 7

Message From The Editor
Summer is finally here and if you are like me you are wishing time would slow down so you can enjoy all that the
Adirondacks has to offer during this season.
We have filled the summer issue with many great articles and as always beautiful and fun photography to help
tell the stor y. So many stories and great ads, in fact, that we added a few extra pages.
One theme we focus on often is that of people and groups who give of their time for a worthy cause. Volunteer-
ing has been one of the most rewarding things I have done in my life. Volunteering has also become something
that I have not done enough of lately. It can be hard to make the time when most of us have ver y little free time
to begin with. This year I plan to get back into volunteering for certain organizations.
In this issue we share a stor y that demonstrates just how important and rewarding volunteering can be. Our
stor y focuses on trail maintenance; there are, however, endless opportunities to share your time and talent with
worthy causes within the Blueline. With all of the great events that take place throughout the park, we encourage
you to look for ways to get involved and donate your time and talents. So often, when volunteering, you end up
receiving more than you give.
Thank you for reading and supporting LOC ALadk. We welcome and appreciate your feedback. Let us know what
you like in the magazine, and what you would like to see in the future. We also encourage you to submit stor y ideas
and photos. Email us at info@localadk.com
Happy summer,
Anne Brewer
